The visitor experience
This page describes a published tour from the visitor's side, so you know what your audience sees and can explain it to them. The tour is designed for phones first (large touch targets, notch and home-bar safe areas) and works equally well on computers.
Loading
While a panorama loads, a loading screen shows your Loading Text with a percentage. The page title and description come from the project settings.
Looking around a panorama
| Action | Computer | Phone or tablet |
|---|---|---|
| Look around | Drag with the mouse (or move the mouse with Mouse Look on) | Drag with a finger |
| Use a hotspot | Click the icon | Tap the icon |
| Close a pop-up | Close button, Esc, or click outside | Close button or tap outside |
The drag direction (Normal or Inverted) is set in Settings.
The toolbar
Buttons at the top right of the screen, shown only when the feature is used:
- Panorama list (top): a side panel with a thumbnail and name of every panorama. Tap one to go there. Enabled with Show Panorama List in Settings.
- Tour map: the map with pins, when the project has a tour map.
Pop-ups
Hotspot and 3D object actions open content in a full-screen pop-up: images, videos (auto-play, inline on iPhone), audio, PDFs and web pages. PDFs and web pages have an Open in new tab ↗ link above them, useful for sites that refuse to be embedded and for multi-page PDFs on phones.
Mouse Look (desktop)
If the project enables Mouse Look, visitors on a computer click the view to capture the mouse, move the mouse to look around, click to use whatever is under the center reticle, and press Esc to get the cursor back. Details in Settings → Mouse Look.
Walking through a 3D scene
A help line at the edge of the screen reminds visitors of the controls.
| Action | Keyboard and mouse | Touch screen |
|---|---|---|
| Walk | W A S D or the arrow keys | On-screen joystick (bottom left) |
| Run | Hold Shift | — |
| Jump | Space | JUMP button (bottom right) |
| Look around | Drag the mouse, or move it with Mouse Look | Drag anywhere on the screen |
| Use an object | Click it (the cursor becomes a hand over clickable objects) | Tap it |
| Leave the scene | Use an object or trigger that opens a panorama, or a tour map pin | |
Visitors collide with walls and slide along them, climb small steps automatically and stand on any surface. Someone who falls off the edge of the world is returned to the spawn point.
