Install & create your first project

This page takes you from download to an open project in the Tour Editor, and explains where 3Sixty Studio keeps your files on each platform.

Install the app

Platform	How to install
Windows	Download the Windows ZIP from the download section, unzip it and run the app. Requires Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.
Mac	Download the Mac ZIP, unzip it and move the app to your Applications folder. Requires macOS 11 or later.
Android	Install 3Sixty Studio on Google Play.
iPhone and iPad	Coming soon to the App Store.

On desktop the app opens in its own frameless window with a custom title bar, and maximizes itself after starting. The minimum window size is 900 × 600.

The welcome screen

Every session starts on the welcome screen. It has:

Create New Project: start a new tour.
Open Existing Project (desktop only): browse to a project folder that is not in your recent list, for example one you copied from another computer.
Recent Projects: the last 10 projects you created or opened, newest first.

On wide windows the create panel and the recent list sit side by side. On narrow windows and phones they stack vertically.

Create a project

Enter a project name in Create New Project.
On desktop, choose the folder where the project should be created. On mobile the app picks the location for you (see Where projects are stored).
Confirm. 3Sixty Studio creates the project folder from its built-in tour template, adds it to Recent Projects and opens the Tour Editor.

A new project contains an index.html (the tour player), a WTMProject.wtm file that stores all tour data, and empty media folders. The full layout is described in Project files & format.

Open a project

Click or tap a project in Recent Projects to open it. The project moves to the top of the list.

If the project folder cannot be found:

Desktop: you see "Project folder not found" and the project stays in the list. The folder may be on an external drive or network share that is not connected right now.
Mobile: the project is removed from the list, because mobile projects always live inside the app's own storage.

On desktop, use Open Existing Project to add any project folder to the list and open it.

Remove or delete a project

The delete button on a recent project behaves differently per platform. Read the confirmation dialog before you confirm.

	Desktop (Windows, Mac)	Mobile (Android, iOS)
Delete button	Remove from list? Only removes the entry. Files on disk are not touched.	Delete project? Permanently deletes the project and all of its files: panoramas, images, videos, 3D scenes and tour map.
Clear all	Removes every entry from the list. Files are not deleted.	Not available.

Where projects are stored

Platform	Location
Windows, Mac	Any folder you choose when you create the project. The sidebar of the Tour Editor shows the path; click it to open the folder in Explorer or Finder.
Android	The app's external files folder, in a `projects` subfolder (`Android/data/<app>/files/projects`). You can reach it over USB or with a file manager without granting storage permission. If external storage is not available, the app's internal documents folder is used.
iPhone, iPad	The app's Documents folder, in a `projects` subfolder.
